Coalescence will be held at Linden New Art’s newly opened gallery, Linden Projects Space from Thursday 28 November until Sunday 19 January 2020. Coalescence features the work of the six artists that form Alternating Current Art Space’s managing committee. The artists are Annette Chang, Nanou Dupuis, Polly Hollyoak, Naomi Nichols, Sarah Randall and Kate Wallace. The exhibition brings together the distinct practices of these artists for the first time.

Based on the importance of artistic exchange and the possibilities that can emerge through difference, this exhibition showcases the incredibly diverse practices of all six artists. The exhibition looks to examine the nature of connection and how friendships can lead to fruitful and inspired outcomes. From the vividly painted works of Nichols to the subdued colour palette of Randall, Coalescence gives insight into the relationships that are forged within Melbourne’s eclectic art scene.

Alternating Current Art Space is an artist-run initiative located in Windsor. This gallery provides a supportive, inclusive, and accessible environment for contemporary artists and curators to show their work. Experimentation and creative risk-taking are encouraged and exhibitions are programmed on application.
