Brisbane’s Shifting Sands launch their long awaited second album “Crystal Cuts” on Melbourne’s Spooky Records. Geoff Corbett (SixFtHick), Isabella Mellor (Catalano, Jeremy Neale), Dylan McCormack (Gentle Ben & his Sensitive Side, The Polaroids) take a crawl down the down-beat and busted-hearted alleyways, drains and dumps on the brilliant follow-up to the “Beach Coma” debut. Shifting Sands, were initially tagged down-beat, depresso-core, now don’t go getting them wrong. It’s not all deep-sea lows. Under the crush there are gardens and caverns providing light and respite and along the way they’ve snagged a groundswell of underground support both at home and in Europe with the band set to play the Binic Festival and a string of club shows in France July/August 2019.
