One of Australia’s favourite singer-songwriter Carus Thompson returns to Melbourne playing his only Victorian show before he tours Europe. Based back in his home state of WA for the past 4 years, 2019 is a year that sees Carus firmly reclaim his moniker as a Global Troubadour. He’s just returned from the UK opening for his good friend, folk superstar Seth Lakeman where he played 1000 seat theatres, cathedrals and churches every night.

Following this farewell show at The Toff he’ll head to Europe for 4 months with a schedule that includes opening for The John Butler Trio in France & Italy. Basing himself out of the west country of the UK, Carus will also record his 7th studio album – to be produced by Seth’s brother Sean Lakeman, who delivered the album Kitty Jay that earned a Mercury nomination alongside Coldplay.

Lies from Carus’s current album ISLAND won a WAM Song Of The Year and was one of the most played songs on Double J in 2017, as well as being a finalist in the highly respected International Songwriting Competition.

It’s an exciting time for Carus to be touring and recording overseas, following up what was such a successful release, as well as heading back to his second home of Europe for an extended tour.

Come on down and help send him off.

Carus Thompson show will always be a journey through quiet ballads, to all-out rockers, and undeniable dance-floor groovers, all delivered with his unpretentious, crowd-inclusive energy. It’ll be a great night for lovers of acoustic music and great songwriting.
