Band leader & music historian, Peter Milley, has an unmatched collection of 1920’s original band arrangements. He possesses unique and detailed historical knowledge of the sound, repertoire and performance nuances of the era. The high calibre and versatility of individual Cairo Club performers and the precision and cohesiveness developed through playing challenging arrangements in the relatively small and compact line-up of a twenties orchestra enables them to play Swing era music with better balance, more color, tighter rhythm and sectional interaction, and hotter soloing than most Swing era bands.

The spirits of Cab Calloway, Duke Ellington and a thousand other musicians are smiling because of Peter Milley and his swinging friends, who embody happiness in swingtime.

Ultrafox combines the muscular driving rhythm of the manouche and lyricism of Hot Jazz to tender ballads, waltzes and their own compositions. Ultrafox was formed by  guitarist Peter Baylor over ten years ago and has built a growing reputation of one of the finest swing bands around, seeking their inspiration from the famous ‘manouche swing’ of The Hot club of France featuring Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelly of pre-war Paris. Their music is characterised by the muscular hard driving swing of gypsy style acoustic guitars laced with lyrical yet fiery solos. Hot swinging jazz, tender lyrical ballads, French melodies, gypsy waltzes and original compositions make up the band’s extensive repertoire. Ultrafox create an atmosphere of elegant swing and exuberant, dynamic dance tempo jazz
