BROLGA's unique music blends Rock, Blues, Funk and Indigenous sounds and rhythms.

Lead by Russell ‘Rusty’ Smith a Pitjantjatjara man and featuring some of Melbourne’s most celebrated musicians including Dave Mudie and Bones Slone (Courtney Barnett Band), Phil Ceberano and Matty Vehl, BROLGA is a testament to the power of music embracing diverse cultures to deliver a unified and original voice. This one Melbourne show in the iconic Gershwin Room will be the launch for their first single ‘Always’, an acknowledgement of our First Nations as the custodians of Country and serves as a new Australian anthem for us all to embrace.

Rusty is well known for his didgeridoo, guitar and vocal contributions to performances and recordings by Rodriguez, Paul kelly, Archie Roach, Amy Shark, Tommy Emmanuel and composers Peter Sculthorpe and Rupert Gregson-Williams.

Formed and bonded over a mutual love of ‘60s pop and partying — along with an appreciation for ‘70s wallpaper — BADGERS pretzel twist spare barebones rock and hazy paisegaze pop back in on themselves, emerging with a piercing, spiraling rock’n’roll that swings like a playset in a hurricane.

Because BADGERS are the sort of band you fall in love with. The sort of band you want to see time and time again to see what will happen, what direction they might take THIS time. They’re unpredictable and dynamic, like a vintage Jag of the car variety… but in execution, they’re like a vintage Jag guitar: reliably terrific, and possessed of timeless history and class.
