Founded in 2019 by vocalist/guitarist Ameya and bassist Julia, with the addition of band members Austin and Sam, Keaper is a Melbourne-based band writing immersive, guitar-driven music and blending it with visual flair. Drawing inspiration from artists like DIIV, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Sundays and The 1975, the band’s songs are recognisable by their pensive lyrics, melodic instrumentation and the introspective atmosphere they create. Doubling as a visual art project, Keaper combines artforms to provide a unique style of escapism reflective of the band’s interest in cinema, illustration and photography. These visual elements are linked to Keaper’s music through a connection to place and emotion.
See Keaper live at The Barwon Club on Sunday 14th March with support from Stress Walters and Hassall.
