Get your teeth stuck into some Barefoot Bowls Club on July 16th at Cherry Bar to celebrate the launch of their latest track.

Barefoot Bowls Club (not to be mistaken with the sport traditionally played by senior citizens) is a Melbourne four-piece started by siblings Astrid and Clancy Watt in 2017. A band with only two members isn’t much of a club so they brought Grace Snow on board with her melodic bass lines and an extensive distortion pedal collection. The fourth bowler, Kate Dougherty, stands front and center with a mesmerizing, commanding presence playing everything from the harmonica to the vibraslap- she’s the Cherry on top of this indie-rock outfit.

The band’s latest track Teeth is like a bad dream but in the best way. It’s loud, riff-heavy, and full of the energy Barefoot brings to their live performances. It was produced by Aaron Dobos at Sing Sing studios after the band won a recording grant from AMEX in late 2020. Expect unwieldy dancing, a guest synth superstar, and a whole lot of group singing (yelling).

Joining the bowlers at Cherry are The Stained Daisies right off the back of their latest EP Jazz Club as well as brother-sister duo Bellhop.

And yep, Cherry Bar is open ’til late for cocktails and DJ’s spinning quality tunes.
