Australian electronic music pioneer Ash Wednesday has always been determined to innovate and explore. His is a career and influence which spans across generations.
Emerging in the seventies combining the electronic noises of the avantgarde with punkrock rhythms using tape recorder experiments and an analogue synthesiser, Ash became founder of seminal seventies groups JAB and Models, and later a member of The Metronomes, Modern Jazz and CRASHLAND! Ash was a central figure in the development of Australian synthpop and minimal music throughout the eighties, collaborating with Karen Marks on her celebrated release Cold Café.
