Ancient Animal Orchestra and Loz Irwin-Ray team up for a night of atmospheric folk and improvised music.

Ancient Animal Orchestra transports audiences beyond their immediate surroundings and immerses them in music and storytelling, all in their bid to expand the realms of folk and improvised genres. 2019 saw the release of their debut album, 'Retreat', and in 2020 they put out Fairhaven’, an EP featuring improvised music recorded in a living room along the Great Ocean Road. 2021 saw a performance at MONA and the beginnings of their next release taking shape in the studio.

Loz Irwin-Ray combines a love for creative expression and connection in her music. Marrying melodic baselines to soaring vocals, she pulls you into a digestible narrative that tackles the state of the world and the state of living within it. Spending most of her performing time as a sessional player, this show is a rare glimpse into a new set of stories she’s been busy realising into music. Loz (Vox, Electric Bass) will be airing out these beauties in trio form with Patch Pheasant (Cello, Vox, Percussion) and Tom Benson (Sax, Vox, Percussion). Expect: Foot tapping life advice with groovy solos.
