Adam Simmons returns to Bar Open in March with two variations on his Origami trio. Regular drummer, Hugh Harvey, may be touring the USA with The Cat Empire, but that allows a couple of other fine, young Melbourne drummers in Lucky Pereira and Hudson Whitlock to come and join the fold. And for the first two weeks, Simmons will reunite with long-time Bucketrider colleague and master-of-all-sounds-bass, David Brown. Expect the usual unexpected mix of Sun Ra, Outkast, Men at Work, Nick Cave, Ornette Coleman and Simmons’ originals served up with irreverence and attitude.
