Sculpting Voltage on Max Headroom
Bradley Dixon chats to Robin Fox, an audio visual artist and musician from Melbourne about the history of electronic music in Australia. Fox says that the first real experimentations with electronic music took place in Melbourne, with these pioneering synthesizers currently on display at the Grainger Museum exhibition Synthesizers: Sound of the Future. The original analogue synthesizers were brought to the Granger Centre by composer Keith Humble at a time when electronic music was restricted to the academic and experimental domains. Through the increased use and production of analogue synthesizers, musicians were able to explore a new realm of music and sound. Listen back to the fascinating history of electronic music in this extended interview.
