Walk The Line: Indigenous Place-Making In Design With Jefa Greenaway

Jefa Greenaway from Greenaway Architects and Melbourne University joins presenter Kerrie O'Brien on pop-up show Walk The Line to discuss Indigenous design across several projects in Melbourne. In particular, he discusses the new student precinct that he’s working on at Melbourne University, which spreads across 2.5 hectares. He explains how the project is concerned with connecting to country, which has involved a strategy that Jefa terms “Indigenous place-making”. Kerrie and Jefa explore how design functions to shift our engagement with space and place, as well as the practical application of these ideas in the recent debates around statues and sanitising history.
