Uncommon Sense: Behind The Policies Of The 2022 Election Campaign

In this first instalment of an ongoing series spotlighting policy during the 2022 federal election campaign, Guardian Australia's social affairs and inequality editor Luke Henriques-Gomes joins Amy to discuss what social policies have been announced, discussed, and debated in these first three weeks of campaigning.

Amy and Luke take an in depth look at the policy positions of the major parties on some of the key social issues in play this election, including the NDIS, the cashless debit card, and JobSeeker rates. Luke also highlights some of the more interesting policy ideas brought forward by the Greens and the “teal” Independents, and how they may shape the incoming government’s policy agenda.
