The Rap: The Merindas In Conversation
Melbourne-based duo The Merindas are a synthesis of warrior queen, on-trend style of electronic, expressive music dedicated to their cultural heritage and unprecedented on the Australian music scene. Accompanied on stage by the mastery of Jake Steele’s mixing skills, together they create an atmospheric fusion of Indigenous, electro-tribal pop.
They talk to host of The Rap Areej Nur about the many influences in their music, creating “party atmospheres” with their live performances, why they host workshops for First Nations kids, their new album We Sing Until Sunrise (three years in the making), and more, ahead of their show at Brunswick Music Festival.
