The Rap: Opening the Body’s Archives via Allegory with Choreographer Amrita Hepi

Amrita Hepi is a Bundjulung (Aus) and Ngāpuhi (NZ) woman and award-winning dancer and choreographer. She joins The Rap with fill-in host Samira to discuss her residence at the Melbourne Immigration Museum, where she will challenge conceptions of what a ‘dance floor’ looks like across a number of special events until February 29th. Amrita also discusses how she uses different modes and materials to unlock movements and memories that are stored in the body’s physical archives.
