The Grapevine: Comedian Josh Earl Explains How He’s Adapted His Live Shows For Lockdown

Comedian, podcaster and former Breakfaster Josh Earl has, like many artists, been forced to rejig his live show as a result of the ongoing coronavirus restrictions. After having dates and shows cancelled, Josh decided to honour ticket sales by taking his video podcast Don’t You Know Who I Am? online. “At the start it was going to be people coming into the studio and doing it,” Josh tells The Grapevine. “And then, with all the lockdown stuff, we thought that wasn’t safe, so now all the guests are just streaming in from home, which is really nice.”

While the transition hasn’t come without its challenges, the decision to produce exclusively online content seems to have paid off already. “More people have been watching the podcast through this system than if I’d had it at my venue, which would have been capped at 150 people.”

Get tickets for the next Don’t You Know Who I Am? via Stupid Old Studios.
