The Grapevine: Celebrating the 600th Edition of ‘The Big Issue’

While The Big Issue is primarily a not-for-profit publication that supports people experiencing homelessness, many other social enterprises have been borne from its pages, including community sports events and women’s networks. The magazine published its first edition 23 years ago and in this time has rallied voices from a spectrum of contributors, earning itself iconic status in local journalism. Big Issue editor Amy Hetherington joins The Grapevine to discuss the origin story and irreplaceable role of the magazine, as well as what lays between the covers of the forthcoming 600th edition, which includes an interview with Liam Gallagher by Triple R’s own Sarah Smith.
