The Golden Age of Piracy: Tomahawks’ Duane Denison Shares His Formative Five

Duane Denison from American band The Jesus Lizard joins Tristen to share five of the tracks that have influenced him over his extensive career. The guitarist is also in super-group Tomahawk, who have just released a new record Tonic Immobility.

The rocker starts his five way back in the ’80s – “the golden age of new wave” – with an Ultravox track. A fan of their earlier work, Duane says you can like something even when you don’t like everything that they do. His second choice is “a little slower” Iggy Pop track, who he says he’s always been a big fan of; he then moves on to “a classic, very English sounding” King Crimson song. Alongside his fourth choice, Duane shares some tales of Al from Ministry, and finally wraps up his Formative Five with an “almost a guilty pleasure”.
