The Golden Age of Piracy: Karate Boogaloo’s Formative Five

Hudson, Callum and Henry from local funk band Karate Boogaloo share their Formative Five with The Golden Age of Piracy’s Tristen Harris, drawing on ‘specific favours and general flavours’ and in no special order. It’s a suitably eclectic mix from a band that describes itself as delivering ‘serious grooves with the speed of a Jackie Chan snap-kick, but with the fun of Postman Pat’.

As the rhythm section of long-time Melbourne soul favourites The Cactus Channel, Karate Boogaloo’s choices don’t stray far from their funk/soul roots – and they serve up a collection of classics that you didn’t know were classics!
