The Distant Sky: Sampa The Great Brings Zambia Back To Naarm

Sampa The Great makes her return to Melbourne this weekend, debuting a brand new show that has been in the making for quite some time, and showcasing her latest album As Above, So Below from front to back. Sampa joins Kate on The Distant Sky to chat about the Hamer Hall show on Friday 9 December, and what exactly audiences can expect.

Off the back of the Sampa The Great: An Afro Future shows, Sampa talks about how the crew have been stepping it up in terms of the production for the upcoming shows, and how she can express what the album means visually through movement and lighting.

“This show will be bigger and better… we are going to go into the musicality of the songs and the album and give it a different take, performing songs that we have never performed before."

Sampa the Great takes the Hamer Hall stage on Friday 9 December at Arts Centre Melbourne.
