Former Go-Betweens frontman and Australian music icon Robert Forster joins Neil on The Australian Mood to discuss his latest record, The Candle and the Flame, and his upcoming tour. Released last week, Robert mentions how the album was made under particularly difficult circumstances, upon learning of his wife Karin’s cancer diagnosis mid-pandemic. What started as the family coming together and playing songs as a way to provide comfort, soon led to Robert’s eighth studio album being born. A family affair, The Candle and the Flame was produced by Robert and Karin alongside his son Louis.

Robert will be playing at the Brunswick Ballroom on Friday May 19th as part of his upcoming Australian tour.
