SmartArts: Victoria Jones On The 'Don't Break Our Arts' Campaign
Richard Speaks to Victoria Jones, a spokesperson for the 'Don't Break Our Arts' campaign which is being run in the lead up to the State Election, and is challenging all political parties to restore $60 million of previous funding to Creative Victoria and other institutions.
Highlighting the short-sightedness of cutting arts funding and the negative impact it has on artists, tourists and residents alike, Victoria has experience on campaigns like this across the UK and Australia, and has seen first hand the impact funding has on culture.
Victorian cultural projects contribute $41.1 Billion to the local economy annually, and employ over 340,000 people.
Our status as the cultural capital of Australian is in jeopardy. Support the campaign and sign the petition here.
