SmartArts: Swampy, Scruffy And Radical – Thirty Years of Snuff Puppets

Melbourne art collective Snuff Puppets are turning thirty. Known best for creating wild, abstract creatures and wonderful mysterious beasts - their brand of subversive, lo-fi puppetry has toured the world.

Snuff Puppets CEO and Artistic Director Andy Freer has been with the team since its inception, he joins Richard Watts to talk about the legacy of Snuff Puppets and their brand new production - SWAMP.

‘When you’re outdoors and on the street… we’re free to roam, free to play and kind of turn people’s lives for that moment a little bit upside down and a little bit into a world they never would have expected and that’s what I find delicious about the idea of getting into people’s heads with giant dolls”.
