Read the Room: New police powers - what are they & should we be worried?

Last week, the state government announced they would be looking to expand the role of police and PSOs, allowing them to detain people who they suspect of having the intention to commit a crime, or violate pandemic health directions. This is in addition to the already extraordinary powers that police have in this pandemic and state of disaster.

Lawyer Daniel Nguyen, from the Police Accountability Project, joined Jim Malo and Bez Zewdie - filling in for Osman Faruqi and Madeline Hayman-Reber - to discuss what this means, and whether or not we should be worried about it.
