Dr. Forbes McGain, anaesthetist and intensive care physician at Western Health, and Professor Jason Monty, an experimental researcher in fluid mechanics and Director of the Mitchell hydrodynamics laboratory, join Radiotherapy to discuss their current work on the new ‘isolation hood’. This invention is a device that has a plastic canopy that sits around the patient, with a fan at the back so that any infectious particles are sucked away from healthcare workers who are coming into contact with contaminated patients.
