Director Ken Kwapis joins Sam to talk about his new documentary, We Are The Shaggs, screening at MIFF this year. He discusses the making of the movie, and some of the challenges that came with paying such a unique band their dues.

The Shaggs were an American cult band, known for their rather musically discordant album, Philosophy of the World (1969). As maligned as they are beloved, the documentary uncovers the curious story of how the album came to be.
