Singer-songwriter Melody Pool has spent the last few years not thinking about music. Feeling burned out by the industry, she moved away from Melbourne to the Hunter Valley where she “didn’t pick up a guitar for a really long time.”

Pool returns in 2023 renewed and with a beautiful new EP Lost In Time that, in part, chronicles this time in her life. Currently on tour, she joins Brian Wise in studio to play two news songs and talk about her self-imposed retreat from the recording industry. The pair discuss how Pool reconnected with her creativity, her dislike for “happy songs”, and what it was like sharing her battles with depression and anxiety on national TV.
