Uncommon Sense: Nasser Mashni, President of the Australian Palestine Advocacy Network (APAN) on Palestinian Solidarity

Fill-in host Kirby talks to Nasser Mashni, President of the Australia Palestine Advocacy Network (APAN) about local Palestinian solidarity.

Nasser discusses that for 16 years, Israel has held a land, sea, and air blockade of every single Palestinian in Gaza, essentially rendering that captive population in an open-air prison, and that people don't talk about Palestinian lives beyond Israel's right to defend itself, and that advocacy for Palestine is often conditional on the phrase, 'but do you condemn Hamas'?

They also discuss the overwhelming number of allies in the community, with the Jewish community being some of the loudest advocates for the Palestinian cause, and that thousands of people around the country are rallying together to say 'not in my name'.

Head to APAN's website for information about actions and events around the country.
