Saxophonist Andrew Bernstein and drummer Sam Haberman of Horse Lords called in from a hotel room in Copenhagen during their European tour, supporting new album Comradely Objects. It continues their pursuit of instrumental music with radical intent, this time with more defined structure and shorter lengths than previous work. Influence from rave playfulness drives the momentum of the brisk compositions. The group originated in Baltimore, but now three of their members live in Germany, drawn to the academic and creative possibilities of the region, coupled with the realities of family life.
