Historian Dr Clare Wright on Breakfasters

During the early twentieth century, Australia was seen as the social laboratory of the world, and was one of the first countries to grant women the vote in 1902. The women who led the cause were dubbed as feminist disruptors, a sentiment that is still very much alive in today’s anti-feminist crowds. Clare Wright sat down with the Breakfasters to talk about her new book, You Daughters of Freedom: The Australians who won the vote, which tracks some of the work done by the world’s first-wave feminists.
