Curator Simone LeAmon Discusses NGV's First Interior Design Exhibition on Breakfasters

Simone LeAmon is the curator of Contemporary Design and Architecture at the National Gallery of Victoria. She joins this week’s Breakfaster fill-in team of Tom Tumble, Areej Nur and Nat Harris to give the low-down on the NGV’s new exhibition which features designs from studios who participated in the prestigious 2018 Rigg Design Prize. If you’re thinking, ‘So?’ Well, as LeAmon explains, through studying interiors we can learn a lot about the culture, technologies and power structures of a particular time. LeAmon hopes future generations can look back on these interiors and learn something about our generation as well. If you’re also hoping to learn something, the NGV will be hosting the design exhibition until 24 February 2019.
