Breaking And Entering: Cut Copy’s Dan Whitford Takes Over the Decks
He may now be based in Berlin but Cut Copy’s Dan Whitford still loves coming back home to Melbourne where ‘there’s a whole new generation of people making electronic music’, which is a ‘really cool thing’.
Drew Barrymore’s endorsement of ‘Going Nowhere’ from 2017’s Bright Like Neon Lights may well be one of his career highlights, but with another European tour coming up this Northern summer, that could be an early call. Lauren and Simon chat to Dan about what the future holds for the Aria award-winning duo, then Dan treats them to a special 30-minute mix live in the studio.
Dan will be playing a DJ set at 9.30pm tonight (aka Friday 3 May) as part of Nocturnal at the Melbourne Museum. The lineup, put together by Waving at Trains Artists, also features Millú, Krakatau, and Merve.
