Breakfasters: Visiting The State Library Of Victoria Online

Boasting more than 7000 visitors a day, the State Library of Victoria is Australia’s oldest and busiest public library. Sadly, just after undergoing an $88.1 million facelift, the much-loved institution was forced to close its doors in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. But, as CEO Kate Torney informs Breakfasters, one can still access the treasure trove of materials inside online, in the safe womb of isolation. Arts, music and films? You’re covered. Digitised collections? You bet. You can even ask a librarian anything.
