Breakfasters: How To Support The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre This World Refugee Day

This Saturday, the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre are running their annual Telethon on World Refugee Day. The ASRC’s founder and CEO Kon Karapanagiotidis reminds us that the families they work with don’t have access to Medicare or the safety net of JobKeeper or JobSeeker. The ASRC Telethon on World Refugee Day is about “taking back the narrative”, putting a spotlight on refugees, and raising critical funds, so that the ASRC can continue being “the supermarket, the pharmacy and the roof over [asylum seekers’] heads for families that have got nowhere else to go”.

The Telethon is a live fundraising appeal, running from 7am to 10pm this Saturday, June 20. It will be live streamed on the ASRC’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. If you’d like to donate and chip in what you can, visit the ASRC’s website to donate right now or call 1300 692 772.
