Breakfasters: How Street Artist Rone Breathed Life into a Decaying Beauty

For over twenty years Burnham Beeches, a glorious 1930s mansion nestled up in the Dandenong Ranges forest, has lain neglected and decaying, its glamour a thing of the past. Enter Melbourne street artist Rone, who’s been commissioned by the building’s owners to create something special: use the entire interior of the faded glory as his own personal canvas. Rone speaks to Breakfasters about his piece EMPIRE: the challenges inherent in spending a year transforming an evanesced manor into an immersive art experience.
