Astral Glamour: Swingin’ Sheilas of the ’80s

Taking you right back to the big decade of the 1980s, Astral Glamour guest hosts Kate Reid from It Records and Guy Blackman from Chapter Music reflect on the swinging, most influential and bold women of the era. Taking a quick peak through their collections, they sadly found that most of the artists were men. However, this didn’t stop them from digging deep and finding some truly amazing local ladies of the ’80s, including those who made it to fame and fortune and those who seem to have slipped under the radar. Making their way through the decade, they encounter musicians from all genres, including pop, feminist funk, post punk and rock – and to top it off they even throw in a bit of rock flute for good measure!
