Ahead of their Wheeler Centre event ‘Sobering Thoughts: Public Drunkenness Reform in Victoria’ tonight, Senior Lawyer at the Human Rights Law Centre Shahleena Musk and Yorta Yorta woman Apryl Watson, whose mother Tanya Day died in police custody in 2017, speak to Areej about the need to decriminalise public drunkenness and highlight how the law as currently applied unfairly targets Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
