A Community Christmas: Queerspace Celebrates Breakfast in the Park
We often associate Christmas with a time of love and happiness, however this is not always the case for everyone in our society. Often the festive season can bring up strong emotions and feelings of loneliness and isolation within the LGBTIQ+ community. Karen Field, CEO of Drummond Street Services, chats to Summer Breakfasters Sam, Sarah and Tess about Queerspace’s Breakfast in the Park on Christmas Day. Karen says that navigating family dinner can be challenging at the best of times but can be especially difficult if you are queer. The upcoming breakfast aims to foster feelings connection, community and festivity. Featuring live music and face painting, the breakfast will take place at Flagstaff Gardens and is open to all members of the LGBTIQ+ community, their families and supporters.
