Live at RRR October 2026

It is our biggest month yet in the Triple R Performance Space next month! We've got local icons, underground heroes, international stars and more... so you really want to make sure you're subscribed and ready to make your way to these events!
Joining us this October are:
SIDNEY PHILLIPS
Naarm/Melbourne via Queensland rapper Sidney Phillips makes her debut appearance in the Triple R Performance Space on Friday 2 October, hosted by Lizzynice of Good Static.
Taking inspiration from cloud rap, hyperpop and internet culture, Sidney makes what she calls “adlay PluggnB” music, forging a singular path in Australian music alongside her musical collective stealthyn00b. Fresh off the release of her latest mixtape C**T, Sidney will treat Triple R subscribers to her rapturous and high energy live show.
SAMPA THE GREAT
Zambian-via-Australian musician and rapper Sampa The Great returns to the Triple R Performance Space ahead of her triumphant third album Nu Zamrock on Monday 5 October, hosted by Nana Owusu of Baseline.
Nu Zamrock marks the beginning of a new era for Sampa, as she explores her family connections to Zamrock through her uncle George Kunda, who was a founding member of Zambia’s legendary psychedelic rock band WITCH.
Her new project will carry her family's history forward while creating space for what comes next, re-imagining Zamrock through the lens of hip-hop, poetry, and soul. Triple R subscribers will be treated to an early preview of tracks from the album.
BLUE COMMUNICATIONS
Naarm/Melbourne DIY pop trio Blue Communications swing by the Triple R Performance on Friday 9 October, hosted by Hal Langley of Local and/or General.
Formed in 2024 amongst the reeds of the Merri Creek, Blue Communications channel the damaged pop minimalism of The Velvet Underground and Young Marble Giants into their own sun-soaked, jangly Australian sound.
Their debut self-titled record (and previous Triple R Album of the Week!) quickly cemented the band as underground favourites on the scene, with their live show playfully incorporating the melodica, guiro frog, and shruti box, alongside stand up drums, bass, and guitar.
DAVE GRANEY AND THE mistLY
Australian music royalty Dave Graney and the mistLY help celebrate Triple R's 50th with a live set in the Triple R Performance Space on Friday 16 October, hosted by Johnny Topper of New and Groovy.
Dave Graney and the mistLY are the live band centred around Melbourne music stalwarts Dave Graney and Clare Moore, who have just released their new album Laburnum of the Mind, their first release on vinyl since the early 90s.
Dating back to their time in the Moodists in the late 70s, Dave and Clare have forged an enduring music legacy across multiple projects over almost five decades. Triple R subscribers on the night will be treated to a selection of songs across their long and varied songbook.
AJA MONET (US)
LA-based surrealist blues poet aja monet performs a special set in the Triple R Performance Space, on Wednesday 21 October, hosted by Shambe Olweny-Pu of Opium Audia.
In town for a show at the Melbourne International Jazz Fest, aja monet will perform songs from her 2026 breakout album, the colour of rain, accompanied by her outstanding US-based backing trio.
the color of rain is a compositional tour-de-force of poetry, emotion, and resonance and shifts seamlessly between jazz, soul, hip hop and rhythm and blues.
LOST ANIMAL
Naarm/Melbourne multi-instrumentalist and underground hero Lost Animal performs live in the Triple R Performance Space on Friday 30 October, hosted by Yasmine Sharaf of Cease and Desist.
Lost Animal's new album Give Some Get Some is the third LP from the brainchild of Jarrod Quarrell, and will be his first new material since 2016's You Yang.
The album was produced by Dan Luscombe of The Drones, who ended up playing on the record and joining the live iteration of the band. On Give Some Get Some, Quarrel’s lyricism takes centre stage, capturing a decade-long journey of self-examination and discovery.
As always, the only way to attend any of these shows is by being a subscriber, so make sure you're subscribing, then head to the Subscriber Giveaways page for your chance to win! The giveaway for Sidney Phillips is officially open, with the rest to follow.
This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through Creative Australia, its principal arts investment and advisory body. Sampa The Great and Aja Monet are sponsored by Up - Australia's #1 rated banking app.
