Phil Noy began his rich musical life in Tasmania. At the age of 18 he moved to Brisbane where he studied the Alto Saxophone with the legendary Tony Hobbs. Inspired by Tony, Phil developed an endless desire to explore the sound of the Saxophone. This in turn has led to an unexpected career as a Saxophone Technician, recently acknowledged with an invitation to Paris France to work with the world renowned ‘Selmer Paris’ Saxophone company.

As well as leading the current incarnation of the Phil Noy Quartet, Phil has been a member of The Allan Browne Quintet, The Bamboos, The Julien Wilson Quartet, Los Cabrones, The Hoodangers, Noisy Jamama and The Bennetts Lane Big Band and the legendary bebop band out of Melbourne “Bopstretch”
