Tanya-Lee Davies new single COLLECTOR washes over you like a warm breeze blowing in from the outskirts of a country pop town and hints at a kiss and tell, perhaps from the lips of a Tennessee Williams southern belle who’s heart is worn but still open to another waltz around love’s dance floor.
It’s a melancholy of 12 string guitars, piano accordion and tambourines, with a gentle percussive pulse. Sixties jangly guitars swoop in for a major to minor shift at the bridge and flow onto a Byrds influenced solo. An extended hook laced outro, a little bit Laurel Canyon and big on girl group harmonies, soothes any residual heartache.
