The Skabhangers, XocNeb & the High Tides are coming to the Edinburgh Castle Hotel on Saturday August 6.
The Skabhangers draw heavily on the original sounds of Jamaican 'First wave' ska sound of the 1960s, with song lyrics that reflect modern life in Melbourne and burning instrumentals.
The High Tides conjure a subtle blend of Jamaican Ska, 2 Tone and Punk. Mixing Perrys, pills, poetry and politics the band add their up-tempo offbeat to a genre that is now in its 70th year. Armed only with instruments, humour and sharp social comment The High Tides set life affirming words to a heavenly melody, a killer bass and an impassioned beat.
XocNeb bring a fusion of modern jazz, funk and r'n'b beats to create grooves with their own aura.
Door charge: $10
The acts wish to acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Owners of the land this show takes place on, and pay respects to their Elders past, present and emerging. We also wish to acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded.
