The SKABHANGERS launch their debut album with a family-friendly afternoon show at the Workers Club on Saturday January 28! Taking inspiration from the sound of 1960s Jamaican ska and early rocksteady, the SKABHANGERS are gaining a reputation for their dynamic live shows. The self-produced and self-written album combines cheeky lyrics on modern life in Naarm/Melbourne with burning instrumentals and improvised solos.
Proudly supporting the SKABHANGERS are good friends ALPAKA MARAKA - music designed to get you moving your body in celebration of what it is to be alive, and FUNK RABBIT - original compositions boasting amalgamations of funk, soul and rock n roll.
All ages and family-friendly event. Patrons under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
The performers wish to acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Owners of the land this show takes place on, and pay respects to their Elders past, present and emerging. We also wish to acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded.
