Gold: An Animated Rhapsody is a film with the soundtrack music from the new instrumental album by Ashley Davies. Inspired by The Lasseter Series and other artworks by Len Davies. An exhibition of Len's work will be displayed after the film and record launch.

Ashley was inspired by watercolours bequeathed by his uncle, artist Len Davies, to his mother on the artist's death. He was particularly drawn to The Lasseter Series, depicting the prospector's search for the lost gold reef. Most depictions painted his endeavour as a tragic tale from start to end, but Len's paintings of the tale were the opposite. His watercolours of Lasseter's journey were refreshing and beautiful to look at, inspiring Ashley to write a piece of music for each of the paintings in the series.
