Part queer rom-com, part crime saga, and part cosmic fever dream, ‘Enlightenment’ is a dark, hilarious and moving play from one of Australia’s true renegade artists. Singapore-born, Perth-based playwright, Joe Paradise Lui, who re-imagines two towering figures from his childhood - the prince Siddhartha, and the magical Monkey from ‘Journey to the West’ - meeting, as young women, in contemporary Australia.
