Thursday 2nd September - Saturday 11th September @ Chunky Move Studios, Southbank
Chunky Move presents Mix Tape created by Stephanie Lake showing at Chunky Move Studios (111 Sturt St Southbank) from 2-11 September 2010. Mix Tape is about love. Driven by an eclectic and personal set of songs as well as recorded interviews, this new dance work cleverly illuminates experiences of regret, desire, ecstasy and disillusionment. Mix Tape reveals both the sublime and mundane facets of love in daily life – how we choose each other and the substance of our attraction. Mix Tape is part of The Next Move, a series of performances created by the next generation of dance makers, commissioned and presented by Chunky Move.

The Australian/French co-production The Tree received a rapturous standing ovation at its World Premiere as the closing night film of the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year.
The Tree stars Charlotte Gainsbourg, Marton Csokas and Aden Young and is directed by French filmmaker Julie Bertuccelli, whose debut feature, Since Otar Left, won the Grand Prize, International Critics’ Week, at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival.
Filmed entirely in Australia, the film is an adaptation of the novel Our Father Who Art in the Tree and explores the capacity of imagination as a means to survive and the unstoppable power of life asserting itself over sadness.
