Initially conceived as an informal side project of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds members, Grinderman has evolved into an outlet for some dark and very twisted rock and blues. Following from the self-titled debut, second album Grinderman 2 is simultaneously more focused in sound and wide-ranging in scope, building on the band's foundations to incorporate krautrock, lo-fi garage rock, and experimental rock styles. Not missing is Grinderman's trademark irreverence.
