Radio City – The First Thirty Years of 3 Triple R
Many of Milne’s friends were in bands, and by August he was organising ‘New Wave Rock Show’ at Swinburne College’s Ethel Hall, called ‘Cheap Thrills’, featuring the Boys Next Door, the Reels and the Obsessions.
There were only about 50 people in the audience, but the gig had a seminal effect. Milne began working in the Missing Link record store, and within a few years would start his own record label and shop, Au Go Go.
Along the way, he would find another outlet in Triple R
