Program changes for April 2014
We are very excited to announce some new programs, along with some slight changes to existing programs, on Triple R for April 2014.
In November 2013 Donna Morabito left The Grapevine. In 2014 Kulja Coulston has been presenting the show solo but with some extra on air support from the program’s volunteer assistant Dylan Bird.
On Monday afternoons 2 pm - 4 pm we present a new program Astral Glamour hosted by Joe Brnadic. Travel through the world of recorded music, touching base with a wide range of genres and engaging in musical explorations. Forgotten underground releases and recent arrivals, anything from vintage garage, R&B, soul and funk to the explosion of human expression that is the DIY post-punk/dance scene and the wonders of the pop/psych world. There is sure to be something of interest to you.
Joe Brnadic continues on from the summer
On Monday evenings Plato's Cave moves from many years as a podcast on Triple R to a regular live program in the 7pm - 8pm slot. Hosted by Thomas Caldwell, Cerise Howard and Josh Nelson. Tara Judah will also co-host when she returns from overseas, with Cerise becoming a regular 4th co-host.
The show continues on from summer.
On Wednesday mornings 9 - midday, with the departure of the excellent Detour hosted by the now-BreakfasterJacinta Parsons, we present a brand new show titled Hullabaloo hosted byJeff Sparrow. Hullabaloo; Noun, a clamorous noise or disturbance; an uproar.Interviews, talk and regular segments focusing on how art, music, science, philosophy and politics intersect with the everyday world. A raucous mix of the familiar and the new; a show for those who like their culture turned up to eleven.

On Wednesday afternoons midday - 2 pm, Aural Text with the great Alicia Sometimes finished in December last year. Another brand new show titled Multi-Storied begins, hosted by Elizabeth McCarthy and Louise Irving. Interviews with people who tell stories, write stories or otherwise contribute to the narrative arts. With a focus on how stories are told, and why. Novels and narrative non-fiction. Performance and poetry. TV and stage production. Mythology and internet memes.
Multi-Storied continues on from summer.
Dave Hinnrichs has decided to end Heathers On Fire due to work commitments. We are very sad to see him go from the Friday slot he has been presenting for three and a half years. Rest assured he will be back on the Triple R airwaves very soon.
A brand new show for Fridays 7 pm - 10 pm begins. Neon Sunset hosted by Annaliese Redlich. Ramp ups and wind downs, bedroom jams and familiar sounds. Studio gems, memory joggers, carpet stickers and non genre-specifics. Luminous treats and freaks fit for Friday.

Sara Savage has accepted a work position in Singapore and therefore has had to end No Pants.Once again we are sad to see Sara go, but hopefully in the not too distant future we may see her return to Australia and back to our airwaves.
A brand new show Where Yo Is? hosted by Bruce Milne begins on Sundays 10 pm - midnight. A wild ride exploring strange, oft-overlooked music genres. Expect to hear some one-word instrumentals (that’s not an oxymoron), Middle Eastern surf, Cuban doo-wop, cross-dressing R&B, animal-themed dances, crying songs and tracks that make you go ‘Wha??’.
Bruce and Where Yo Is? begins May 4.
On Hood Pass, 10 pm - midnight Mondays, Evet Jean left to work in New York in January of this year. Rob Steezy and Carlos T continue as co-hosts.
On Local And/Or General, 8 pm - 10 pm Mondays, co-host Adam Christou accepted a position in Perth and left the program in December last year. Jason Moore continues as host.
Banana Lounge Broadcasting on Tuesdays midday - 2 pm has lost Elizabeth McCarthy to Multi-Storied but gained Kate Kingsmill as co-host with Dave Graney.
