How did you first connect with Triple R?
My long love affair with RRR began as a teenager in Lilydale in the early 80's - My weekend's involved hooning around country roads with boyfriends in muscle cars - New Wave and Punk bands maxing the stereo! I was hooked!
What/when was your first show?
Station to Station - A specialist American new releases program each Friday morning from 1986.
What's your favourite Triple R story?
Interviewing the crazed Texan psychedelic punk band The Butthole Surfers in 1991 on my Sunday afternoon program ‘Hotwire'. The most out of control but hilarious live interview I have ever experienced. All members were off their faces on opium tea - they'd been drinking it all arvo and were freely imbibing in the studio, whilst proclaiming to the world that I was naked. Must replay that interview on air on day.
Your favourite other Triple R program and why?
Stylin' - Ennio's got the perfect Friday grooves!
What does Triple R mean to you?
I can't imagine my life without RRR.
The studio door has accidentally jammed shut with you stuck inside. If there was only one CD in there with you what would you want it to be and why?
Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation. Legendary, long and must be played at full volume for maximum appreciation. It wouldn't be long before someone investigated the racket!
